Regina
Broussard creates pastel and prismacolor marker drawings that are characterized by a
confident graphic line and strong, flat patterns of color. Her subjects are primarily
portraits of the people, places and day-to-day objects around her. The image of a squirrel
holding a coffee cup in its mouth appears repeatedly in her work, expressing freedom and
the artist's love for coffee. Her work has been exhibited at the Oakland Museum, Richmond
Art Center, San Jose State University, and in an exhibit traveling to Belgium, France and
Switzerland, as well as Bay Area galleries.
