In Lunar Custard the artists intent was to create a
playful, surreal view of reality. The sky is
interpreted as a puree, and the hand literally smears the liquid-like sky with its
fingers. Influenced by the Mexican Magic
Realist literature of the twentieth century, the artist is attempting to make reality
more real by use of tactile values.
