Ë
Jesus began his career as an artist in
the late seventies. From then until 1990, he
participated in several dozens of collective art shows, mural projects, and solo exhibits
throughout Mexico. His works were also shown
in Japan, Nicaragua, Cuba, and the southwestern United States.
He sat on both the Student Board of
Directors and the Diploma Commission of the National School of Art (ENAP) of the
Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); he worked as a high school art teacher; he
contributed artwork and commentary to a variety of Mexican publications; and he
collaborated on several film, video, radio, and theatre projects throughout the
1980s.
